Biwakar Chaudhary

  • Biwakar Chaudhary is a brilliant performer with a precise sense of rhythm and beats on his table.
  • He plays as a table accompanist with a number of well-known artist like, Pt. A.T. Kanono, Vidushi Niva Gupta (Violin), Padma Bhushan Pt. Debu Chaudhary,Shri Prateek Chaudhary, Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota, Vidushi Meeta Pandit, Shri Anindo Banarjee, Pandit Bebojyoti Bose, Shri Barun Kumar Pal, Shri Purbayan Chatterjee, Ustad Sujaat Khan ( Sitar),Grammy awarded Dana Leaong ( Chelo Player) and Few noted artists.
  • Born in middle class family at Karimganj, Assam, on 23rd March, 1979, he struggled through his life to come to this level of an artist. He started to play table when he was only 10 under the guidance of his maternal uncle, Shri Sridham Chakraborty. With his uncle’s guidance he joined the music school: Paramananda sangeet Vidayalaya , where he practiced and learnet Table under the guidance of Soumya Bhushan and Nirmalya Bosu, and attained  for himself a good level of being expert on theinstrument by acquiring the degree Visharad.   • His interest in Table all the more what accelerated when he witnessed the performance of Ustad Zakir Hussain, on 18th February 1995. He was much motivated by the artist and decided to devote himself to Tabla and make a carrier out of it.
  • He then met Mr. Sanjay Prakash Das (A disciple of Jain Prakash Ghosh and PT. Krishan Maharaj), a staff artist Silchar All IndiaRadio, who guided him on the instrument. He continued untiringly with great devotion to master it for nearly a decade.
  • He had been to China (June, 2010). Under ICCR tour program, in the previous year he had been to Amsterdam, Philippine, Honk Kong, Bangkok and Norway to take part in the music festival.
  • Besides instrument, he is at home with other percussion instruments like Djiembe, Cheek-Playing, Bangla Khol, Dhak, Tambourine and string instrument Santoor.
  • He is indeed an upcoming artist who maintains the styles of four different Gharanas: Punjab, Fraukabad, Banaras and Delhi.
